A native of Syracuse, New York, I have lived in Vermont for more than thirty years. I lived in Putney, Enosburg Falls, and Saxtons River before moving to my home in Dummerston in 1980. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts cum laude from Windham College in 1970. I also studied at the Gotze Studio Workshop, Paris, France, and at the 212 Media Workshop, Saugerties, New York.
My work has been exhibited at the Christine Price Gallery, Castleton State College, VT; Glissler Gallery, Stoneleigh Burnham School, Greenfield, MA; Borgia Gallery, Elms College, Chicopee, MA; Tyler Gallery, Marlboro College; Hays Gallery, Brattleboro; Windham Art Gallery, Brattleboro; Beside Myself Gallery, Arlington; and Montshire Museum, Hanover, NH. My work can be found in such collections as Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA; the United States Department of State, Washington, D.C.; the University of Vermont, Burlington; and numerous private collections.
I have continued independent study of painting through professional workshops, and have received a grant for a residency at Vermont Studio Center, Johnson. I am a member of Artist’s Seminar, an educational critique group of working artists. I have been a member of the Women’s Caucus for the Arts, and was a founding member of the Windham Art Gallery, serving as chair of the Exhibition Committee during my years there.
I currently teach art classes in Drawing, Color Study, and Beginning Watercolor in my studio. I have previously taught art courses at Adult Continuing Education and Community College of Vermont in Bellows Falls and Brattleboro. I have also taught in several public schools, at both secondary and elementary school levels.
